SL33PYasked:Is there a way to make a simple Cappuccino at home? I remember that a friend use make one in 5 minutes with simply coffee, though I can’t remember the rest of the ingredients. Could you help me out?
Without a machine
You have to buy one of those $5 frapper things…it just whips the coffee/milk up and makes froth.
Real espresso is used in a cappucino but I suppose you can fake it. I put a little HOT water in instant coffee and sugar and beat it with my frother, then add the rest of the water.
What I also do is heat some milk in the microwave inside another cup to the boiling point and then whip it with my frother too and pour this over top the coffee and add cinnamon/cocoa powder.
I couldn’t find anything but this here recipie. Hope you like it!
IRISH CREAM ICED CAPPUCCINO WITH EQUAL
43% calorie reduction from traditional recipe.
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup instant coffee granules
1 cup water
12 packets Equal® sweetener or
3 1/2 teaspoons Equal® for Recipes or
1/2 cup Equal Spoonful™
6 cups fat-free milk
1/2 cup liquid Irish cream coffee creamer
Whisk together first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly; boil whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Remove mixture from heat; add Equal®. Cool slightly.
Whisk in milk and creamer. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or up to 2 days.
A cappuccino is equal parts espresso and milk and frothed milk. Without a machine, you can do the number one cheat of making really strong coffee. Fill your cup half full with the coffee and add same amount of milk then sweeten to taste. Add a little cocoa if you want (i love chocolate). If you want the icky froth – stick the milk in a blender for a bit before adding. I skip this part because I don’t see the point in the foam.
I don’t like the mixes – they taste awful and costs too much. But they are fast.
You can make your own mix but that probably tastes awful too:

We buy Folger’s different coffees. So easy to make with hot water. We like the Straight Up Latte. International has mixes too. No machines needed.
